One person dead, two hospitalized after head-on collision on Cartwright Road
One person has died after a head-on collision Thursday evening on Cartwright Road, according to a series of tweets from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
The two-car crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Cartwright Road between Hidden Springs and Pierce Park Road. Preliminary reports indicate a vehicle going westbound went into the eastbound lane and collided with another car. The car going westbound caught on fire on the side of the road, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
The force of the impact was significant enough to send the eastbound car down an embankment. Emergency crews had to remove two people from the wreckage, and both were taken to the hospital.
