Caldwell police investigating home invasion, connections to victim

The Caldwell Police Department is pursuing leads in their investigation into the home invasion of a residence on the 1200 block of Filmore Street Friday night, according to Capt. Devin Riley.

Riley said investigators believe the suspects, who reportedly forced the residence’s door open and shot the 21-year-old female resident in the arm, could likely know the victim. Investigators are still narrowing down possible suspects. The woman wasn’t able to identify the intruders, whose faces were covered by bandanas.

“We don't think it’s a random act of violence,” Riley said. “We believe they're connected somehow, and we're just trying to find out how.”

Riley said investigators don’t believe the incident was gang-related.

The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS or Caldwell police at 208-454-7531.
