The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified a pedestrian who died last week after being struck by a vehicle.

David Wassel, of Caldwell, was struck by a vehicle on Oct. 2 near the intersection of East Ustick Road and Cleveland Boulevard in Caldwell, according to a news release from the coroner.

Wassel was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he died a week later from “complications of multiple blunt force injuries,” the coroner’s release said. Wassel, who was 45, died at 12:55 p.m. on Oct. 10, according to the release.

His cause of death was ruled an accident, the release said.

Caldwell police are investigating.

Dawn Marchetti, Caldwell Police Chief Rex Ingram’s administrative assistant, said in an email to the Idaho Statesman that it should submit a public records request for reports related to the crash. The case will be submitted to the Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney’s office “for review on additional charges,” she added.
