Suspect facing pair of felonies in West Boise stabbing. Victim survived

The Boise Police Department responded to a stabbing at a residence in West Boise on Tuesday evening, leading to a pair of felony charges against a 24-year-old.

The stabbing occurred between two people who knew each other, a police spokesperson told the Idaho Statesman in an email, and took place at a residence near near Five Mile Road and Edna Street at about 5 p.m.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect, Zachariah Culver, was booked into the Ada County Jail on Tuesday and faces two felony charges — aggravated battery and an enhancement for use of a deadly weapon — according to online court records.

In 2020, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors, one an assault charge and the other a battery charge, involving threats to commit violence and unlawful use of force or violence, court records show.

Police said the investigation into Monday’s stabbing is ongoing.
