Nampa man sentenced for ‘decade-long’ abuse of young girls, child porn
Update (Aug. 28, 2025): Third Judicial District Judge Randall Grove sentenced Kenneth Dial to an even harsher punishment of life in prison without the possibility of parole for several other related child sex abuse charges, according to the Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office.
“There is no sentence I could give you that is enough of a punishment for the harm you’ve caused,” Grove told Dial.
The original July 29, 2025, story:
A Nampa man who victimized more than one young girl will spend the rest of his life in prison for “decade-long” sexual abuse.
Kenneth Dial, 42, was sentenced to life in prison — with no parole possible until after 65 years — for sexually assaulting one underage girl, and creating and possessing doctored images and videos depicting minors in sexually explicit acts. He was initially charged with dozens of felonies in both Ada and Canyon counties related to the sexual abuse of minors and child pornography.
Fourth Judicial District Judge Cynthia Yee-Wallace said Dial’s actions left behind “invisible injuries” that victims might spend generations trying to heal.
“You exploited both their vulnerabilities,” she said in court Monday, referring to a pair of victims. “You exploited the love … shown you and turned it into deep wounds that, again, takes years to heal.”
As part of a plea deal that both counties arranged, Dial pleaded guilty to 16 felonies: six counts of lewd conduct with a minor, three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, five counts of possession of sexually exploitative material of a child and two counts of creation of sexually exploitative material of a child. He’s also expected to pay restitution, and thousands of dollars in fines and court costs.
To the victims, Yee-Wallace said she hoped they were able to take back their power, heal their wounds and “live a beautiful life.”
“Every time Kenny touched me or made me touch him inappropriately, I was terrified,” one of the girls he assaulted said in court Monday.
The Idaho Statesman doesn’t typically identify survivors of sexual assault.
The girl, now a teenager, and another girl were abused by Dial throughout their childhood, and first reported the abuse to family members in June 2024. When the abuse was reported to law enforcement, police already were investigating Dial after he tried to pressure two teenage girls into performing sexual acts, Ada County Deputy Prosecutor Katelyn Farley said in court Monday.
Those girls told investigators that they’d been at Dial’s home but it got “really weird,” and they ran out, Farley said. “They disclosed he had guns everywhere, and he had told them to get naked on his bed,” she added.
Farley also spoke about the other two young girls.
“The defendant has attempted to strip these incredible girls of their identity — but has not succeeded. They will not and are not defined by the defendant’s actions, nor what he has done to them,” Farley said. “They’ve handled the past year with resilience and grace, and they all have bright futures ahead of them, despite the childhood the defendant subjected them.”
Prosecutors said they are aware of at least five victims tied to Dial, but Farley said there are likely “hundreds of others” he victimized through altering pictures and videos. When he was arrested in August 2024, law enforcement found thousands of images and videos on his phone.
“This case represents some of the most egregious and disturbing crimes we see. The sentence reflects the severity of these crimes and ensures public safety,” Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts said in a news release.
Dial said in a statement that he “fully accepts responsibility” for the charges connected to the child pornography, but he said he was innocent of the lewd conduct charge.
“I want to express my deepest remorse to the court, to the victim and everyone affected by this case,” he said. “It’s definitely not what I ever wanted.”
He still faces sentencing at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 26 in Canyon County on the other 10 felonies.
