A 15-year-old boy was arrested after a stabbing in Meridian on Thursday evening.

Meridian police responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1800 block of West Waltman Street around 6:11 p.m., according to a blog post by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. The preliminary information indicated the victim had been stabbed multiple times, and the suspect had fled, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers quickly found the teen suspect at his home and took him into custody. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The stabbing occurred in unincorporated Meridian, where the county has jurisdiction, prompting the Sheriff’s Office to take over the investigation, the agency said.

“Following further investigation, it was determined that the stabbing occurred in unincorporated Meridian (county jurisdiction). Ada County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to the scene and have since assumed responsibility for the investigation,” the sheriff’s office wrote in the news release.

Sheriff’s deputies booked the teenager into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of felony aggravated battery.

Another 15-year-old boy was arrested after an alleged stabbing and attempted robbery in South Boise on Wednesday. The two incidents are unrelated, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lauren Montague told the Idaho Statesman.
