Coroner identifies Boise man who was fatally stabbed during fight outside gas station
The Ada County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that took place early Tuesday morning outside a gas station in Boise.
The man who died at a local hospital was Nicholas Tenney, 31, of Boise.
Boise police responded to a call at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 7300 block of W. Ustick Road and found an “unresponsive male” with a stab wound, the Boise Police Department said in a news release.
Officers performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived to take Tenney to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, where he died at 3:16 a.m. in an operating room, according to the coroner’s office.
The coroner listed cause of death as a “sharp force injury of the chest” and the manner of death as homicide.
Police said they apprehended Eliseo Torres, 36, of Caldwell, at the scene. Evidence indicated Torres stabbed Tenney during a fight involving them and several others, according to Boise police.
Torres was injured and received treatment at a hospital before being booked into the Ada County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder. He also faced charges for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia from a previous warrant.
Officers also arrested Daydreyn Pelton, 25, of Boise, near the scene. Police said it appeared Pelton was “involved in the altercation and stole property from Torres.” He was booked into the jail on suspicion of felony robbery.
Detectives are looking for additional suspects and asked anyone with information to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 or Crime Stoppers at 208-343-2677.
