A 39-year-old Star man has been found guilty of first-degree stalking, according to a news release from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, and he faces another trial on the same charges next month.

Daniel Rowen was found guilty on two counts of felony stalking by an Ada County jury last month, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which has a contract to provide law enforcement services to the city of Star.

Rowen was arrested last fall after video surveillance from Eagle’s library showed him following two girls under the age of 15 around the facility. Footage also showed Rowen following and watching other young females in the library for extended periods of time, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

None of those females could be identified.

Star police also received several reports of Rowen “acting strangely” around young children, officials said.

Rowen, who is in custody at the Ada County Jail, is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Sept. 12 at the Ada County Courthouse.

He also has another case involving felony stalking charges set for a jury trial in early August.
