A warrant was issued for a Nampa man. A U.S. Marshals task force arrested him in Boise

Federal and state authorities arrested a 22-year-old man in Boise on a felony warrant Monday.

The U.S. Marshals Service Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force arrested Anthony Garza, of Nampa, on suspicion of domestic battery with traumatic injury at 1611 W. State St., according to a news release from the agency. The warrant was issued on Aug. 16, the release said, and the Nampa Police Department requested the task force’s assistance on Oct. 3.

Nampa police spokesperson Carmen Boeger told the Idaho Statesman by phone that the warrant stemmed from two domestic violence incidents that occurred in August and October. The Statesman reached out to the U.S. Marshals Service for additional information.

In 2017, Garza pleaded guilty to aggravated battery for severely beating a 15-year-old boy, the Idaho previously reported. Garza was also 15 years old at the time. He’s on probation until January 2028, according to online records from the Idaho Department of Correction.

The U.S. Marshals Service, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, and the Boise and Nampa police departments assisted in the arrest.
