Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Boise, hospitalized with life-threatening injuries

An adult male pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a vehicle on Americana Boulevard near West Cooper Street in Boise on Wednesday, according to the Boise Police Department.

Americana Boulevard was closed while detectives and a crash reconstruction team investigated, BPD tweeted.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital since the crash “appeared on scene” to be potentially fatal, the tweet read.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, a BPD spokeswoman wrote in an email.

In a 9:07 p.m. tweet, Boise Police reported that the investigation was ongoing and that Americana Boulevard would reopen “shortly.”
