Boise Police arrest 2 fugitives at hotel on various charges, including drug trafficking

Boise Police arrested two people on Thursday on multiple drug charges after they were allegedly found in possession of large amounts of heroin and methamphetamine.

Chanel Mccord, 32, of Boise, and Jared Burchett, 39, of Kuna, were arrested after Boise officers and the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force went to a hotel room in the 7000 block of West Overland Road.

According to a BPD news release, Mccord had a “no bond” arrest warrant and was wanted for felony eluding. Burchett was wanted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony failure to appear. As officers attempted to take Mccord into custody, she allegedly physically resisted and attempted to bite an officer.

Police reportedly obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and found 30.4 grams of heroin and 2 grams of suspected marijuana. Officers also found 17.5 grams of methamphetamine, MDMA, several schedule 3 and schedule 4 pills without prescriptions, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

Police say they found that many of the bags of heroin and meth were individually packaged for sale. Both suspects were booked into the Ada County Jail.

Mccord was booked on suspicion of drug trafficking, felony attempt to elude a police officer in a vehicle, felony drug paraphernalia-use or possess with intent to use, felony revocation of bail, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting ob obstructing officers.

Burchett was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, trafficking heroin, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, failure to appear, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
