Police still searching for suspects after two downtown Boise shootings on 10th Street

Police are still searching for a suspect or suspects after two shootings were reported early Sunday morning in downtown Boise.

Though the Boise Police Department said in a news release Sunday that “several people” were taken into custody following reports of shots fired, no one was arrested or charged in connection with the shootings, BPD spokesperson Haley Williams said Monday.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 10th and Bannock streets at 2:51 a.m. Sunday after a report of a fight and a gun being discharged, police say.

Minutes later, just before 3 a.m., a call of shots fired was reported two blocks away at 10th and Main streets, where police took “several people” into custody before releasing them. Williams said that no one was booked in connection with the shooting. Police believe whoever shot the gun near 10th and Main was able to flee the area.

The news release said that no one was injured by the gunfire in either shooting. Officers found evidence of gunfire at both locations. Williams said a description of the shooter was not available as of Monday.

Both shootings are still under investigation, and police have no direct evidence to suggest the two shootings are related.

Police are asking anyone with information on either shooting to call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 or Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS. You can also send tips to Crime Stoppers online at www.343cops.com or on the P3 app.
