Boise man faces 2 felony charges, including rape, in attack. Police say he knew victim
Siyad Matan, 21, of Boise, has been charged with felony counts of rape and first-degree kidnapping related to an incident in December that was investigated by the Boise Police Department.
He was arrested last Friday, according to a news release.
On Dec. 27, police responded to a report of an aggravated sexual assault, and said they eventually found evidence that Matan — who was known to the victim — sexually assaulted a female inside a parked vehicle, according to BPD spokesperson Haley Williams. Matan is accused of not letting the victim leave the car during the assault, which led to the kidnapping charge, authorities said.
The police investigation was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Matan’s arrest. He was booked into the Ada County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
