Boise man accused of selling 1.5 pounds of pot to police, charged with drug trafficking

Authorities arrested a 24-year-old Boise man on Thursday after he allegedly sold a pound-and-a-half of marijuana to Ada County Sheriff’s Office detectives.

Morgan C. Dotson is charged with three felony counts of trafficking in marijuana and one count of delivery of a controlled substance in connection with the case, according to the sheriff’s blog. Deputies said they purchased marijuana from Dotson on two occasions prior to Thursday’s arrest.

Deputies served a search warrant Thursday and said they found a large stash of illegal drugs in his Bench-area home. Deputies reportedly found significant amounts of LSD, MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, marijuana concentrate oil, and more than $4,000 in cash.

Detectives began their investigation in December after they found evidence that Dotson was selling drugs from his home in the Rose Hill and Latah streets neighborhood.

Trafficking marijuana is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Dotson is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $250,000 bond. His next court date is set for March 5.
