Two men were arrested Thursday on multiple drug charges after police observed what appeared to be a drug deal in a parking lot at about 3 p.m., according to a Boise Police Department news release.

Officers working in the area of Main and 25th streets eventually identified the suspects as Brion Kimble, 31, of Boise, and Anthony Ramirez, 26, of Nampa. After police witnessed the parking lot deal, they obtained a warrant for a Boise hotel room and found 31 grams of a substance that tested presumptive positive for heroin, 13 hydrocodone pills, 4 grams of suspected cannabis and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Kimble was found to have four failure-to-appear warrants and was arrested on those, while also being charged with drug trafficking and delivery of a controlled substance, both felonies. Ramirez was in possession of eight grams of a substance that tested presumptive positive for heroin, police said, and he was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.

Both Kimble and Ramirez are being held at the Ada County Jail; their drug offenses are not bailable, according to the jail roster.

A third person involved in the case cooperated with the investigation, police said, and could be a candidate for the LEAD (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion) program. It enables people in drug cases to enroll in LEAD and receive treatment, and if they successfully complete the program, drug charges that could have been filed are not.
