Boise man must serve at least 18 months in prison for vicious parking lot beating
A Boise man was sentenced to prison Tuesday for beating a man so severely last year that the victim had bruises and lacerations on his head and face.
Joshua Lundquist, 31, was arrested in September and charged with felony aggravated battery with two enhancements — use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony and being a persistent violator, according to a news release from the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office.
In a plea deal, Lundquist pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony aggravated battery for striking and punching the victim, who was known to him, in a parking lot along N. Maple Grove Road. Lundquist’s other charges were dismissed.
Fourth District Judge Jonathan Medema sentenced Lundquist to 8 years in prison; he will be eligible for parole after 18 months.
Two months before his arrest in the beating, Lundquist pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace, according to court records. He was on unsupervised probation at the time of the parking lot attack.
