Police arrest registered sex offender for suspected child pornography possession

Law enforcement arrested a 48-year-old Nampa man on Thursday who is accused of possessing child pornography.

Triston D. Kuzmic remains in custody at the Canyon County Jail for two felony counts of possession of child pornography and an enhancement for prior child sex abuse.

He was arraigned on Friday afternoon. Kuzmic had a prior conviction in 1998 for sexual abuse in Oregon.

Kuzmic is at least the fifth person arrested this week in the Treasure Valley alone as a result of Internet Crimes Against Children investigations.

Because Kuzmic already has sexual abuse conviction on his record, he faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison if he’s convicted of the new crimes.

Anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children is encouraged to contact local police, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
