Boise man, 56, arrested and charged with murder in woman’s death

A 56-year-old Boise man was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 56-year-old woman.

David L. Randall was booked into the Ada County Jail, where he remains because first-degree murder is not a bailable offense.

The Boise Police Department said in a news release that it received a call Monday afternoon and responded to a residence near State and Bloom streets, discovering the woman dead upon arrival. Officers immediately began investigating it as a suspicious death because of evidence at the scene, according to the release.

Randall was at the scene and was known to the victim, police said, and they identified him as a suspect. Further investigation and gathering of evidence led to his arrest, BPD said.

The news release did not have details about the nature of the woman’s death. Her identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified, and then the Ada County Coroner’s Office will release that information.
