Idaho man sentenced to 45 years for sexually abusing young Nampa girl in 2012

A Canyon County man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison and will serve at least 10 before being eligible for parole for sexually abusing a child, according to a news release.

Kevin James Adler Jr., 37, of Nampa, was sentenced for lewd conduct with a minor under 16, a felony. He will have to register as a sex offender, submit a DNA sample to the Idaho database, and have no contact with the victim or any minor children for 50 years. Adler Jr. also was ordered by 3rd District Judge Gene A. Petty to pay a $5,000 civil penalty to the victim.

“Mr. Adler used his position of trust to molest an innocent young girl, and he continues to be a danger to our community,” said Canyon County prosecutor Bryan Taylor in the release. “There is no doubt that he belongs in prison for a long, long time.”

Adler was served with a felony arrest warrant in April while in the Ada County Jail on child pornography and other charges. The release said the case was referred to Nampa police because the child porn investigation found that text messages on Adler’s phone referenced the sexual abuse of a girl several years ago.

Nampa police investigators found that Adler Jr. molested a 6-year-old in 2012, according to the release.
