Woman charged with second-degree murder

Garden City police arrested Jordan Marie Shaver, 21, on Friday afternoon after responding to a missing person call near the 5100 block of Elaynea Lane.

Sgt. Jerry Walbey said Saturday that officers quickly realized something was amiss and searched the house, where they found a 50-year-old man dead.

People at the house told police that Shaver fled shortly before they arrived. Officers searched the area and found her near Glenwood and State streets. They took her into custody on an unrelated failure to appear warrant.

After interviewing her at the department, Garden City police charged her in the man’s death. Police wouldn’t say whether Shaver was related to the deceased man. The investigation is ongoing.

According to the Idaho Court Repository, Shaver was charged with felony grand theft and burglary in September.
