This designer-at-a-discount store drew lines when it opened in Boise. 2nd store coming
Nordstrom Rack, the Seattle-based fashion retailer known for discounts on designer brands, plans to open its second Idaho store at The Village in Meridian.
Nordstrom Rack, Nordstrom’s discount branch, opened its first Idaho store near the Boise Towne Square shopping center in 2012 to lines of shoppers — the first 1,000 of whom got tote bags.
The Boise store will stay put, and the new store at The Village isn’t expected to open until fall 2025. So budget-conscious fashion fans will have to wait until next holiday season to do their shopping at the new Meridian store, or head to Boise.
Nordstrom Inc, which started as a shoe retailer in 1901, now offers luxury brands of apparel, accessories, beauty products and home decor. Nordstrom Rack offers those at up to 70% off.
The new store will also allow for easier access to online services for shoppers in the area, Nordstrom President Gemma Lionello said in a statement announcing the planned opening.
“Customers will be able to take advantage of our convenient services such as online order pickup from both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, and they can make returns easily,” Lionello said.
Spokespersons from Nordstrom Rack say the 25,000-square-foot store will be ready for its grand opening in about a year.
