Nampa man accused of sexual battery for allegedly soliciting teen for sexual act
A Nampa man was arrested Wednesday after investigators accused him of sexual battery of a minor by solicitation.
Francisco Javier Contreras, 36, was booked into the Canyon County jail on single counts of sexual battery of a 16- or 17-year-old and possession of a controlled substance. Online booking documents also show that Contreras is in custody on an immigration hold.
According to a press release from the Idaho Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit — or ICAC — Contreras allegedly solicited a minor to participate in a sexual act in February. He was arrested Wednesday by ICAC agents as well as officers from the Nampa and Caldwell police departments. The Canyon County prosecutor’s office assisted in the arrest as well, according to the press release.
Contreras was booked at around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday and remained in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
Anyone with knowledge of children being sexually exploited is always encouraged to notify local police or call the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700.
