Coroner releases name of man killed in four-vehicle crash near Boise park
Officials have released the name of the man who died in a four-vehicle crash near Ann Morrison Park.
Preliminary evidence showed that a pickup truck driving north on Americana Boulevard struck the victim’s car shortly before 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Boise Police Department news release. The car had been turning left into the park from the southbound lane, the release said.
Police said the truck and car then collided with two other vehicles stopped at the traffic light.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Wednesday afternoon as Mitchell Edwards, 66, of Boise.
Edwards was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in the emergency room department at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, the coroner said in a news release. The report listed Edwards’ cause of death as traumatic blunt force injuries and the manner as accidental.
A dog that was in Edwards’ vehicle also died, officials said. No one else involved suffered serious injuries, according to police.
Law enforcement closed Americana between Crescent Rim Drive and Shoreline Drive on Tuesday while law enforcement cleared the scene and investigated.
