A woman who crashed her car into a tree near the Boise Depot last week died from her injuries, according to a release from the Boise Police Department.

Police found the woman unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle around 3 a.m. on South Capitol Boulevard, just north of West Crescent Rim Drive, on April 15, according to the news release. Emergency personnel extracted the woman and began “performing life-saving measures,” the release said. The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

“Preliminary evidence indicates the driver of the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, drove over the median, across southbound traffic lanes, and crashed into a tree on the west side of the road,” the release said.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police are still investigating. Anyone who may have seen the crash or has any information can contact Ada County non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790.

The woman’s identity will be released by the Ada County Coroner’s Office.
