‘Heartbreakingly unfinished’: GoFundMe set up for loved ones of man who died in crash
A GoFundMe has been started to support the loved ones of a pedestrian who died in a car crash this past week.
Nathan Gould, 23, died while longboarding on Five Mile Road, according to the page and GoFundMe spokesperson Jeff Platt. He had “so much ahead of him,” the GoFundMe said, and this past summer had bought a house with his girlfriend.
“Their life together was just beginning, filled with hopes, dreams, and plans that now remain heartbreakingly unfinished,” the GoFundMe said.
In a previous news release, police said a pedestrian was in the road around 7:10 a.m. last Sunday when he was hit by a driver heading north. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement, according to previous Statesman reporting.
The GoFundMe was set up to ease the “burden of funeral expenses,” and help his girlfriend with financial stability.
“Nathan was a light in the lives of so many, always generous with his time, kindness, and laughter,” the GoFundMe said. “He touched everyone who knew him with his passion for life and his big heart. Now, we have the opportunity to give back and honor his memory by helping those he loved most.”
As of Saturday morning, $2,090 of the $20,000 goal had been raised.
