Searching for a new job where you earn a livable wage with decent benefits in Boise can be an overwhelming experience, especially with many competitors applying for the same job. Idaho’s October unemployment rate increases rose to 3.7%, according to Idaho Department of Labor.
However, there are some options for job hunters in the Boise area, with some positions that pay between $75k per year up to six figures, plus benefits such as health care, paid vacation and sick leave.
The City of Boise, Ada County and the City of Meridian are hiring for more than a dozen full-time job openings, some of which offer a salary above Idaho’s minimum to live comfortably in the city, according to MIT’s living wage calculator.
Here are seven full-time jobs that offer full benefits, such as healthcare, paid time off and a 401k. The deadline to apply to most of these jobs are within the coming week.
IT Physical Infrastructure Engineer (Senior)
Salary: $76,000.00 - $86,000.00 annually

Summary: The Information Technology Department works with every city department to implement technology services, provide supporting data and maintaining the Boise’s existing information technology landscape for the community. The senior physical infrastructure engineer will also provide direct support for network infrastructure and coordinate with city managers to manage network service problems.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, and seven years of experience in installing technical infrastructure, troubleshooting and managing.

Summary: The Biosolids Program Manager oversees all application site-related jobs to ensure they follow federal, state and local regulations and guidelines. They will also develop and implement plans for biosolids programs work
under general direction.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in agricultural science, biology engineering or a related field and five years of experience working with biosolids, used water treatment or a related field. Also needs experience supervising employees.
IT Business Relationship Manager
Salary: $95,500.00 - $107,500.00 annually

Summary: The IT Business Relationship Manager builds working connections with executives, managers and contributors providing counsel on technology-related issues. They will proactively learn about department business operations and industry-specific technologies and advocate for IT resources to accomplish department objectives.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or progressive related educational certificate and four or more years of functional experience within IT. Also needs experience in facilitating the development and implementation of technology solutions to meet business objectives.
Registered Nurse (Ada County Jail)
Salary: $80,196.48 - $90,941.76 annually

Summary: The Ada County Jail is the largest jail in Idaho and can house up to 1,224 inmates. Nurses will provide general health care to inmates in detention, administer treatment and medicine to patients as prescribed and assists physicians at sick call in performing examinations, taking histories and setting up medications. They will also maintain treatment records, making note of all medications given and doctor visits.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, knowledge of professional nursing procedures and nursing equipment. Also has knowledge of laws regulating narcotics, medications and patients’ rights of consent.

Summary: The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney I spends time learning litigation, negotiation and trial skills which may require spending time in court and documenting a high volume of cases. They will also work independently and make critical decisions in case strategy, negotiations and assistance with colleagues.
Requirements: Graduate of an accredited law school and member of the Idaho State Bar, also has knowledge of Idaho Statutes, case law, rules of evidence, criminal procedures and criminal jury instructions. The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney must have knowledge of online legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Building Inspection Supervisor
Salary: $36.23 per hour

Summary: Building Inspection Supervisor performs administrative and professional duties in the planning, management and coordination of building inspection services to make sure all projects comply with adopted codes and ordinances. They may develop policy and technical documents for enforcement of the city’s safety policies. As supervisor they direct all Building Inspector I and II positions.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of five years of supervisor experience in the building industry is required or any combination of education and relevant experience to perform the job.

Summary: Deputy City Attorney will work independently with internal customers and external stakeholders as well as work with other attorneys and staff in the office. They will supervise and assign work to assistant city attorneys and support staff, with approval of the city attorney. Deputy City Attorney will also assist departments with ongoing civil litigation, depositions and internal investigations.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four-year accredited college or university, Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a licensed attorney in the State of Idaho. Also must be a member in good standing with the Idaho State Bar with a minimum of three years of governmental experience.
