Teenager riding skateboard dies after he’s hit by truck in Boise, police say

A teen is dead after he was hit by a truck in Boise on Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to a reported crash on North 16th and Washington streets around 10:10 a.m., according to a news release. The teen, who was riding a skateboard, had been hit by a truck and died at the scene, police said.

Police did not identify the victim but said that officers and victim witness coordinators were working with Boise School District staff to help witnesses and others affected by the crash.

After the incident, police closed 16th Street between Franklin and State streets and limited access to an alley in the area. The street has since been reopened.
