Ada County coroner IDs Boise man who died in a house fire last week. He was 63

The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the Boise man who died in a house fire last week.

David Taylor, 63, died on Friday, Oct. 28, after the Boise Fire Department responded to a two-story house fire in the 3600 block of North Arborcrest Court, according to the coroner’s report and a prior news release from the fire department. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner’s office has listed the cause and manner of death as “pending.”

The Boise home was severely damaged by the fire. When firefighters arrived, they weren’t able to get inside, because the home was “already collapsing’ and there was a “high risk of further collapse,” the news release said.

Firefighters were able to control the fire from outside the home, which prevented the fire from spreading to other homes, according to the release.

Authorities said two trucks, seven engines, one ambulance, two battalion chiefs and one division chief responded.

“Crews were operating in a very hazardous environment and made numerous attempts to find a way to enter the collapsing structure. Our hearts go out to the victim’s family,” Boise Fire’s Division Chief of Operations Aaron Hummel said in the release. “I commend the Boise and Meridian fire crews for their quick response in preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding homes.”
