Idaho man killed after Monday construction accident in Hidden Springs
A Meridian man was killed in an industrial accident on an Idaho construction site Monday afternoon.
At around 4 p.m. Monday, Ada County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a construction site near N. Horse Collar Way, which is just off Cartwright Road near Hidden Springs in northern Ada County.
Deputies were told that a man was operating a large piece of machinery that overturned and rolled down a large embankment, according to Patrick Orr, a spokesperson for the Ada Sheriff’s Office. The man was thrown from the machine, which Orr said was a scraper, and then hit by the machine.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Meridian man Patrick Lee Anderson. The coroner’s office said Anderson died from blunt force trauma and the manner of his death was ruled an accident.
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
