Boise police arrest man after Sunday night shooting on Owyhee Street
Boise police arrested a man Sunday night after he allegedly shot a man near Owyhee Street.
Christopher Moorefield, 22, is being held at the Ada County Jail on one count of aggravated battery and an enhancement of using a deadly weapon in commission of a felony.
At around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 1800 block of Owyhee Street near Whitney Elementary after receiving reports of gunshots being fired, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department.
While en route, police learned that a shooting victim was in a car less than a mile east of the shooting near the intersection of Overland Road and Vista Avenue. Paramedics found the man and rushed him to a local hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.
Officers arrived at Owyhee Street and learned that the victim and another man, whom police believe to be Moorefield, had been in an argument while standing in the street. The victim got into his car to leave when Moorefield allegedly shot at him in the car multiple times. The victim then drove to Overland and Vista, where police and paramedics found him.
Police identified Moorefield as the suspect in the case and took him into custody.
