Man on e-scooter seriously injured after being struck by vehicle, Boise police say

A man riding an electronic scooter was struck by a vehicle in Downtown Boise at around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Boise Police Department.

The man riding the scooter was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Officials said a driver headed east on Myrtle Street hit the scooter rider, who was going south on 8th Street. The vehicle also hit another vehicle headed north on 8th Street. No occupants of the vehicles were injured.

No one has been charged or cited in the crash as of 3:30 p.m. No other details were immediately available.

It’s not the first time an e-scooter rider has been struck by a vehicle in Boise. In October, a teenage boy died and another was injured when they were struck by a pickup truck while riding together on a Lime scooter.

Ada County emergency dispatchers initially told the Statesman that the crash was reported as a vehicle/bicyclist collision.
