Three lanes of traffic on Interstate 84 in Nampa reopened early Wednesday morning after a tow truck crashed into the concrete median on Tuesday night, according to Idaho State Police.

The left two eastbound lanes and the left westbound lane were closed near the exit to Garrity and North Idaho Center boulevards for several hours, beginning at around 7:25 p.m., according to a news release.

A 41-year-old tow truck driver lost control of an eastbound vehicle and “struck the right barrier, crossed the lanes, hitting the median barrier,” a Wednesday news release said. After crossing the median, the truck partially blocked the left westbound lane.

The driver was wearing a seat belt, the release said, and was uninjured. There were no injuries reported.

The tow truck was hauling a cement truck, according to police.

The crash caused a diesel leak, which crews worked to clean up on Tuesday evening, according to a tweet posted at 8:43 p.m.

The westbound left lane reopened shortly after 1 a.m., and the eastbound lanes reopened at around 2:30 a.m., according to Idaho State Police tweets.

An investigation into the crash was ongoing Wednesday.
