Idaho man found dead in North Idaho car crash

A Caldwell man died in a single-vehicle crash in northern Idaho on Friday evening.

At approximately 6:09 p.m., Idaho State Police responded to a crash on Spirit Lake Cutoff and Polonium Way, just north of Spirit Lake in North Idaho.

According to ISP, Johnnie Longest II, 56, of Caldwell, was driving southbound on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road when he left the roadway and the vehicle struck some trees.

Longest was not wearing a seat belt, according to police, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been notified, and the investigation is ongoing.
