The Ada County Coroner’s Office on Friday afternoon identified two people who died in a two-car crash Thursday night as a pair of Boise teenagers, one of whom was an adult.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of McMillan and Five Mile roads at around 10:30 p.m. and found that two cars had collided. Investigators believe that a car driving south on Five Mile hit a car going west on McMillan.

In a pair of news releases Friday, Coroner Dotti Owens’ office said that Devyn Pifher, 19, was the operator of the car on Five Mile and that Ava Sawyer, 15, was a passenger in the McMillan Road vehicle.

Pifher, the sole occupant of his vehicle, and Sawyer both were pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the coroner’s releases.

The crash left two other people in the car on McMillan injured, authorities said, but the extent of their injuries was not released.

The Boise Police Department is investigating the crash.
