Four people dead after string of weekend crashes across the Treasure Valley

This weekend was an unusually deadly one in the Treasure Valley, with four people across the region dying in unrelated motor vehicle crashes, according to local law enforcement.

The first crash, reported by Nampa police in a Friday press release, involved a motorcyclist who died on Thursday evening. Officials said the 46-year-old Nampa man was found at South Horton Street and West Maryland Avenue with severe injuries from the single-vehicle crash. He was transported to a Boise hospital, where he died. Police said they believe the motorcyclist may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The Meridian Police Department reported a second motorcycle accident Friday evening. In a news release posted to Facebook, police said a motorcyclist was struck by a GMC Terrain around 7 p.m. near Eagle Road and Bald Cypress Street. The driver of the SUV was reportedly changing lanes when they struck the 63-year-old motorcyclist, who later died of his injuries at a local hospital. Police said no charges or citations had been filed in the case as of Friday evening.

Also on Friday, a Horseshoe Bend man was struck by a pickup truck while walking in the road on Idaho 55. Idaho State Police said in a news release that the crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m. just north of Horseshoe Bend. Danny McReynolds, 51, was walking south in the southbound lane of the highway when he was struck by a southbound 1997 Ford truck driven by 55-year-old Dennis Bachik of Nampa. McReynolds died at the scene, police said.

The fourth crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon outside of Mountain Home. Idaho State Police said Chantine Anderson-Flock, 39, of Mountain Home, was driving southbound on Canyon Creek Road in a 2001 Dodge Durango when she over-corrected the vehicle, hit a rock and rolled the car. Her passenger, Lloyd D. Hughes, 46, was ejected and died at the scene. Officials said Hughes was not wearing a seat belt. Anderson-Flock was also injured in the crash and was transported via ground ambulance to a Boise hospital.
