Idaho man dies after crashing motorcycle; Nampa police say alcohol likely a factor

A man operating a motorcycle in Nampa on Friday lost control and crashed, suffering severe injuries that caused his death after he was transported to a Boise hospital, according to a press release from the Nampa Police Department.

Officers arrived in the area of S. Horton Street and W. Maryland Avenue and found a 46-year-old Nampa resident who was the motorcycle’s driver, according to the release. The Nampa Fire Department and Canyon County Paramedics performed life-saving measures on the man, who was then transported to a hospital.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was not wearing a helmet, according to Nampa Police Lt. Jamie Burns.

After a Nampa Police Traffic Unit investigation, officials found alcohol impairment to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to the release.

Police said they talked to several witnesses and encouraged anyone who might have seen what happened to contact them at 208-465-2257.
