Boise State launches COVID-19 data dashboard, reports eight new confirmed cases

Boise State University reported eight new cases of the coronavirus on campus from Aug. 22 to Aug. 28, according to the university’s new COVID-19 Tracking Dashboard, which launched Tuesday afternoon.

None of the eight cases were discovered in students living on campus. Seven were among commuter students, and one was a faculty or staff member.

Since Aug. 15, Boise State has confirmed 16 cases of the virus among the campus population: 13 in commuter students, two in faculty or staff and one in a residential student.

Boise State’s dashboard will be updated each Friday, and it will track confirmed cases.

The dashboard will also show how many of the 115 beds the university designated for isolation are in use. As of Friday, only five beds were occupied.

Boise State’s total campus population — which includes students taking at least one in-person class, residential students and any faculty or staff working on campus — stands at 14,696, and .16% have tested positive for the virus.

Students began moving into the dorms on Aug. 19, and classes began Aug. 24.
