Two cases at Bishop Kelly
Two students at Bishop Kelly High School have tested positive for COVID-19 since classes began on Aug. 17, and 36 students believed to have been exposed to the virus are self-isolating, according to a school spokesperson.
The students in isolation are taking classes via the school’s hybrid online program, and no faculty members are currently in isolation, according to the school.
On Monday, Bishop Kelly sent a letter to parents, confirming one positive case and that any classmates believed to have been in close contact with the student were required to quarantine for 14 days.
The school would not confirm if any positive cases have affected any athletic teams, citing federal privacy laws, but all scheduled games are still a go, according to the spokesperson.
