As a young musician, Stigers played drums in a Boise punk rock band. It would be a bit of an understatement to say his career has taken a turn since then. He’s grown into a (mostly) jazz artist, singer, songwriter and saxophone player who has sold millions of records. He’s shared the stage with legends such as Elton John, Rod Stewart, Al Jarreau and Wynton Marsalis. This year, he has toured around the world, but Stigers never forgets his Boise roots. Sandwiched between shows in Denmark and New York City was a music department fundraiser at Capital High School.
