GET READY FOR EASTER WEEK: BACON-ASPARAGUS STRATA
Easter is Sunday. Whether you're hosting an intimate family brunch or are headed to a larger potluck/egg hunt event, we'll share recipes this week that will get you hopping for the holiday. Today's recipe comes from Better Homes and Gardens website. The great thing is cooks can prepare this dish the day before the Easter fun begins.
INGREDIENTS
Nonstick cooking spray
8 strips bacon, crisp-cooked, drained, and chopped
1 9-ounce package frozen cut asparagus, thawed and well-drained
3/4 cup bottled roasted red sweet peppers, drained and chopped
12 slices dry white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes (about 8 cups)
3 cups shredded Swiss cheese (12 ounces)
8 eggs
3 cups milk
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard or 3 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
