A Nampa man who stabbed two men, one of whom died, at a Boise nightclub in January 2017 has been sentenced to life in prison, the Ada County Prosector’s Office said in a news release Thursday.
Jesus Manuel Garcia was convicted by a jury on four charges, including second-degree murder, in April. His trial lasted eight days.
Garcia stabbed Daviel Ruiz Gomez and Luis Rosales at Boise’s China Blue nightclub on Jan. 14, 2017. Gomez died at a local hospital; Rosales, who was stabbed in the chest and torso, survived the attack.
Garcia will be eligible for parole after 25 years on the second-degree murder charge. He was also sentenced to 23 total years, to be served concurrently, on charges of aggravated battery, use of a deadly weapon during commission of a crime and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
