SkyVue Grill, a burger joint with an affinity for butter and made-from-scratch food, ended its 13-month run when it shuttered at the end of October.

Owner Rob Good said the eatery, which opened in September 2014 at 4822 W. Fairview Ave., hadn’t turned a profit. That’s despite positive reviews from customers and restaurant critics who ravenously inhaled hand-formed, butter-grilled hamburgers.

“The food was great,” Good said. “We did have the best five-dollar burger in Boise.”

Location was a challenge. SkyVue Grill was in the former Rockies Drive-In spot near the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Orchard Street.

“After great reviews ... and the guy standing out there with the chicken suit and everything else — plenty of advertising — (SkyVue) had to close,” Good said.

Good, who used to manage Crusty’s Pizza in McCall, said he has no plans to open another restaurant.

“I’m done with the food business,” he said.
