Restaurant News

Need more chain restaurants, Meridian? Sure you do. Here’s another one proposed

If you live in Meridian, you might not assume you need more fast-food chain restaurants. Especially ones that already feel like they’re everywhere.

But isn’t it comforting to know that whatever you crave is just moments away?

A new Taco Bell has been proposed at 3272 Grand Mogul Drive — directly across Ten Mile Road from the Ten Mile Crossing mixed-use development. If you live in that part of town, you’re fully aware that is a quick-service smorgasbord. We’re talking everything from Chick-fil-A, Blaze Pizza and Cafe Zupas to Gandolfo’s New York Delicatessen, Panda Express and Happy Teriyaki.

Why not Taco Bell?

The new restaurant, which is in the pre-application phase, would be just over 2,000 square feet, according to plans filed with the city of Meridian. It includes a drive-thru, 26 parking spots and a whopping two bike spaces. (Nobody in their right mind rides a bicycle near busy Ten Mile Crossing, right? Not without full body armor.)

This project still needs to be approved by the powers that be. But does Meridian ever not nod furiously to fast food? (Oh wait. In-N-Out Burger actually got denied not so long ago on Ten Mile Road, didn’t it?)

In the meantime, you can visit one of the other 15-plus Taco Bells already in the Boise area — two in Meridian.
