New to Idaho, ‘modern, feel-good’ chain to open Village at Meridian restaurant
There won’t be one of those “Hippies use side door” signs hanging outside.
And the unmistakable scent of patchouli oil won’t waft through the air.
But a restaurant chain making its Idaho debut this year definitely has a name that harks back to the Woodstock era.
On track to open this fall, Flower Child is coming to 3395 E. Longwing Lane at The Village at Meridian. With a slogan championing “healthy food for a happy world,” the brand offers “made-from-scratch meals accessible to a variety of dietary needs,” according to a press release.
If clogging your arteries at In-N-Out Burger doesn’t sound appealing while you’re shopping at The Village, then Flower Child essentially could be the opposite choice.
Describing itself as a “modern, feel-good restaurant known for its vibrant, health-forward menu,” Flower Child aims to satisfy all tastes. “Whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or simply looking for a nourishing meal without sacrificing flavor, Flower Child provides an inviting experience for everyone,” the release says.
“Offering a wide range of customizable bowls, wraps, salads, and mix-and-match veggies, grains, fruits, and proteins, Flower Child’s menu makes clean eating both convenient and delicious.”
The release cites “fan-favorite dishes,” including the Mother Earth Bowl, which is anchored by ancient grains, sweet potato, vegetables, broccoli pesto and a red pepper miso vinaigrette; gluten-free Mac & Cheese with parmesan and white cheddar; and the Flying Avocado Wrap, featuring smoked turkey, gouda cheese, tomato, romaine lettuce and avocado hummus.
Drinks will include “Flower Child’s refreshing iced teas and lemonade,” plus kombucha, beer, wine and house-made sangria.
“The Boise restaurant will showcase the brand’s signature bright, modern design and open-kitchen format,” the release adds, “offering an inviting environment where guests can dine indoors or relax on the patio.”
With locations in 15 states, Flower Child is part of Fox Restaurant Concepts, which operates multiple brands. One of them is North Italia, which opened at The Village last year.
Flower Child’s Meridian store will be the chain’s 46th nationwide, according to the release.
