This Eagle restaurant closed, auctioned off equipment. Wait, that’s good news
When a restaurant goes dark and auctions off furniture and kitchen gear, it’s not usually a good omen.
Consider Happy Teriyaki in Eagle an exception.
The popular, recently shuttered Asian eatery — which rates 4.6 out of 5 stars on Google — says it’s not gone for good. Instead, it’s overhauling its location at 664 S. Rivershore Lane, in a shared building at the corner of Eagle Road.
Happy Teriyaki is undergoing a full renovation during the temporary closure, according to a message it posted in response to a Google review, in order to “make this location an even better place.”
“We are fully committed to delivering an improved experience in the future,” it explains. “We promise to share the reopening announcement soon and are working diligently to welcome you back.”
“... Please keep an eye out for our official updates, and once again, thank you sincerely for your support.”
An order-at-the-counter, fast-casual concept, Happy Teriyaki is a familiar brand in Idaho. There are 12 Gem State locations, according to its website, along with one in Utah.
Happy Teriyaki specializes in its namesake: tasty steamed rice, veggies and meats served via “Happy Plates” ($12.50-$17.50) and “Happy Bowls” ($10.25-$11.45). Other menu options include fried rice, combination plates, yakisoba noodles and more. The chain also pours roughly a gazillion different bubble teas.
“Happy Teriyaki started off with the mission of bringing a taste of Asia to the Treasure Valley,” it says. “We wanted to offer quality Asian and Chinese food at low prices and have always been committed to using only the freshest ingredients.”
In Garden City, fans might have noticed a new location earlier this year at 6708 N. Glenwood St. It took over a former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit next to D&B Supply.
