Another restaurant to abruptly close in this downtown Boise spot — after a year

When Bodovino wine bar and restaurant closed last fall after 11 years in downtown Boise, it gave half a week’s notice on social media.

Its replacement, Kichii Sushi & Spirits, is following the same last-minute model.

After a year at 404 S. 8th St., Kiichi will serve its final dinner Saturday. The Japanese restaurant in the BoDo district shared the news “with great sadness” Wednesday on Facebook and Instagram.

“It was a great year with a lot of fantastic food, cocktails, wine and sake. But, life is taking us in a new direction! Thank you to all our wonderful guests and staff that made this such an amazing place! Please continue to visit our sister restaurant, Bodovino at the Village in Meridian!”

No additional reason was provided for the closure. Kichii rated a 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google and 4.2 out of 5 on Yelp.
