Not in Idaho yet, celebrated restaurant chain buys Meridian land, bumps timeline

Raising Cane’s is growing closer to debuting in Idaho.

The popular chicken-finger chain purchased a 1.46-acre pad site at 2712 N. Eagle Road in Meridian, according to a news release from Summit Commercial Real Estate Group of Boise. The property — on Eagle Road between Fairview Avenue and Ustick Road — is the planned future location of a Raising Cane’s restaurant and drive-thru.

And now it’s got a timeline.

Last April, Raising Cane’s told the Idaho Statesman that it planned to begin construction in mid-summer of 2025 and open later in the year in Meridian. But the plan has been bumped slightly. The Eagle Road location now is on track to debut in early 2026 — in winter or spring, a Raising Cane’s representative said this week via email.

The chain also has purchased the former Golden Corral in Twin Falls, according to a news release from Summit.

Although the excitement surrounding In-N-Out Burger’s 2023 expansion to Idaho can’t possibly be topped, Raising Cane’s also is highly sought after by fast-food fans. Headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it is one of the nation’s quickest-growing restaurant brands.

Raising Cane’s opened 118 new restaurants last year alone, the chain says.
