Global brand TGI Fridays is nearing its final days in Idaho.

The Nampa restaurant at 16225 N. Marketplace Blvd. will close June 30, marking the franchise chain’s exit from the Gem State.

“In 15 years, we have been a part of your birthdays, first dates, engagements, and anniversaries,” the Nampa location posted on Facebook, “and we have loved turning our guests into our friends. We will miss you!”

Based on comments, the feeling is mutual. Customers and former staff members expressed disappointment.

“A sad day!” wrote one. “This was my very first job and I loved it dearly.”

“I’m so sorry to hear this!” wrote another. “My wife and I loved spending date nights at your location. During our time in Idaho we made a lot of memories here. Thank you!”

“We have celebrated our daughter’s birthday here every year for the last 10 years!” added another. “This makes us all so sad.”

The Nampa location was TGI Friday’s lone Treasure Valley location for most of the past decade. A longtime Boise store closed in 2014. It was at 600 N. Milwaukee St. near Boise Towne Square mall.

Founded in 1965, TGI Fridays is “the world’s first casual bar and grill,” it claimed in a recent press release. “For over 50 years, Fridays has been lifting spirits around the world with nearly 700 restaurants in 54 countries, serving high-quality, classic American food and iconic drinks backed by authentic and genuine service.”
