A beloved, family-owned Boise restaurant has returned to action after being dark for nearly 10 months.

Tarbush Kitchen, 5749 W. Overland Road, reopened Friday, Oct. 21. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. seven days a week.

The Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant closed in January after a car crashed through the side of the building, damaging the exterior and dining room. (The driver was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence. No one was injured.)

Husband-and-wife owners Salam and Aseel Bunyan set up a GoFundMe page, which has reached more than $24,000 of its $25,000 goal. In an August email to the Statesman, Salam Bunyan indicated that the building permit for repairs took many months to process.

Lots of Idaho diners will be thrilled to hear that Tarbush Kitchen is open again. The restaurant rates 4 1/2 out of 5 stars on both Yelp and Google.

“The food is amazing,” wrote a Google reviewer, adding, “every time we eat here it is the same great quality.”
