Don’t get hangry, but Boise’s first food hall needs more time in the oven

If your stomach’s growling in anticipation of The Warehouse Food Hall, it might be time to have a snack.

OK, an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Planned for early 2022, then spring 2022, the downtown Boise food-and-drink hub seems to be running a little behind schedule.

Don’t get hangry. The Warehouse, 370 S. 8th St, is on track for a summer opening, said Shannon Kelly, public relations specialist for Geronimo Hospitality Group. There is no opening date set, she added via email.

Summer? Technically, that means The Warehouse — which likes to describe itself as “Boise’s first food hall” — could open as far away as late September.

Or it could be rocking the BoDo District by late June, right?

Be positive. Stay hungry. After all, The Warehouse already hired its general manager. Steve Steading sounds stoked to show off the 29,000-square-foot space, which will have room for more than 20 food and retail vendors.

“The Warehouse is going to transform BoDo and give guests a truly unique culinary experience,” Steading said in the latest press release. “I’m excited to be part of it and look forward to leading tenants toward success. Together we will create one of the best dining experiences Boise has to offer.”

Owned by Wisconsin-based Geronimo Hospitality Group, The Warehouse “will serve as an extension of the 8th Street dining district,” according to the release.

Feast your eyes on the vendor lineup so far: Rush Bowls, Paddles Up Poke, The Loading Dock, Totally Toasted, Caffé D’arte, Freshie’s Lobster Co., Camp Cocktail Bar, Wok n’ Roll, Waffle Love, Bao Boi and Gaston’s Bakery.
